We started by simply trying to identify facilities near the SU and ESF campuses for childcare. From there we have delved into the many complex issues that face students with children. Through surveys and hearing from concerned parents we have a developed an agenda to help you with your concerns.

We are here for you for questions, concerns, and comments about your experience. We want to hear your stories and support you as best we can.

If you are interested in childcare in the Syracuse area, here are some resources that might be helpful to you:

Office of Child and Family Services in New York: This website allows you to search for daycare providers in New York State based on type of daycare (e.g.--in home, small center, etc.), and also allows you to see the inspection records of the daycare facility.

CHILDCARE

Childcare for graduate students in Syracuse is notoriously difficult to come by. Our goal is provide resources for parents for finding childcare and ideally we hope to create dedicated facilities.

Our task force was initially created to address this issue and we are pursuing several options for easing the burden of childcare for students. We are examining the many forms of childcare from formal daily care to after school programs, sports and other clubs, and other child engagement activities.
